"During my jury duty at the nearby courthouse I stopped here for caffeine. My triple mocha was expertly made with velvety foam and plenty of chocolate sauce. I returned later for lunch and noticed a deal of one Bahn Mi sandwich with a cup of the soup du jour for $5.99. The soup happened to be Chicken Congee, one of my favourites. I ordered the chicken Bahn Mi, which was served on a crusty (but not tough) baguette. The sandwich was about 10 inches long and filed with tender, sweet BBQ chicken, a few slices of fresh jalepeño, and some crunch carrots and cucumber. There was also a drizzle of a mayo based sauce that was just enough to wet the bread, but not enough to be overwhelming. The sandwich was quite good in the end and the congee was tasty as well with a sprinkling of fried shallots on top. A perfect sized lunch for less than $10 including a canned soda. Also, the service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Lunch here at 12:30 on a Wednesday was brisk. I was able to catch a spot at the counter facing the street and enjoyed the odd combination of court traffic, soup kitchen overflow, hurried business people, and tourists afraid they'd ventured into an unsavory neighborhood. If I worked downtown, this would be my go-to lunch spot. And judging from the comments of the fellow diners I wouldn't be alone in becoming a regular." Richard H.

"This rating is really only based on two things - eating the chicken curry with rice, and looking at the other cookies/pastries/dishes available. Everything looked ridiculously good, and the chicken curry tasted ridiculously good. So one can probably conclude that the rest of the dishes taste ridiculously good too.
The chicken curry was a nice stew-like dish with chunks of tender chicken, perfectly cooked carrots and potatoes, and chopped green onions along with other assorted garnishes on top. It seemed as close to home made as possible from a local lunch place. It comes with rice on the side, which goes great when when it takes a little dip into the curry sauce. Portions were very ample.
The folks working here are super nice - probably the owners and family... I've walked by this place several times...it used to be the Frontier Cafe or something like that...it never looked very appealing, but now that I've eaten here it will definitely be taking a spot in my usual lunch rotation."
